Susanne Koelbl

Susanne Koelbl is a international correspondent for SPIEGEL. After her journalistic training in Munich, she worked as a writer for the "Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin". In 1991 she switched to SPIEGEL. Since then, she has reported from war and crisis regions such as the Balkans, Central Asia and the Middle East, including Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Saudi Arabia. In 2019, her book "Twelve Weeks in Riyadh" was published by SPIEGEL-Verlag. In 2020, she published "Behind the Kingdom's Veil: Inside the New Saudi Arabia Under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman".
