House of Paper
“Ever since paper has existed, people have been fascinated and touched by this material. Delicacy and strength at the same time. As the basis for a photograph, a brushstroke or as a material in its own right. From the process of creation to artistic design to the brutal transformation into another aggregate state: the possibilities of working with paper are endless. No other material in art is as sensual, present and changeable as paper.”© Annette Berr, Director House of Paper
The paper manufacturer Hahnemühle, the printer manufacturer Canon and the FineArt printing studio d’mage have built a house for paper – in Berlin – and invite you to the “House of Paper”, the world’s first museum for fine, sculptural paper art, with exciting paper art exhibits.
From 2 to 4 September 2022, the second Hahnemühle Weekend can be experienced in the “House of Paper”. From sculptural paper art in the world’s first museum for fine paper art to fine art inkjet prints, everything revolves around the finest paper.
The Hahnemühle Weekend programme ranges from paper ingredients, the production of delicate papers, the 25th anniversary of the Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection to the free printing of 10 prints on Hahnemühle’s new Minilab papers.
A special highlight on Sunday, 4 September 2022, is the round table “The journey of an image – from the idea to the FineArt print”. Photographer Arina Dähnick, the Hahnemühle Certified Studio team from d’mage and paper experts from Hahnemühle will discuss how an image idea is created, how an image finds its FineArt paper and who prints for exhibitions or collectors. This event of the Hahnemühle Weekend in Berlin is free of charge and starts on 4 September at 11 am in the “House of Paper”.
