From an insider community for creatives to an omnipresent commercial network: hardly any other platform has shaped photography in recent years as much as Instagram. With over 5400 posts, Thomas K has worked his way up to the top of the German Instagram photographers in almost 9 years and in the process has not only got to know the platform better, but also himself. In his workshop, he talks about his career and his visual language, gives tips on finding motifs and composing images, and explains the do’s and don’ts of still reaching people with photography on Instagram today.

Experience creative vision and develop new photographic perspectives.
In this “Photowalk” on Kotaro, L Mount photographer Fabian Grell and a very likeable model* will demonstrate the often surprisingly simple tricks that can be used to create truly creative and unusual portrait photos.
In this walk, we will discover the surroundings together and repeatedly experience short shooting sessions in which we will also include the given architecture and environment. In a playful way, the participants are encouraged to leave their own photographic comfort zone, try out different (unusual) effects and thus practically expand their own view of light, colour and depth in pictures. In addition, there are always short inputs on the topics of eye tracking, composition, posing, expression and communication with the model. All participants need to bring is a suitable SD memory card, appropriate clothing and a good mood.
*The photos taken with the model may not be used commercially. Publications in social networks must also be agreed with the model on site.
Canon x Foto Meyer
Saturday, 03.09. 17:00 - 18:30
The Canon Photowalk on board the KOTARO: Lots of photos – without a “walk”.
Ahoy! Please come on board and let us inspire you with rare insights and unusual perspectives that we will collect during the city cruise through Berlin.
The Canon crew will teach you everything you need to know to take successful photos, from how to compose the picture and the right exposure to the use of wide-angle lenses and the use of tilt/shift lenses (not only) for architectural photography. In addition, the Canon team will be on hand to answer your questions and give you tips on all aspects of photography, and will also have some interesting equipment on board for you to try out. We look forward to seeing you!
